കഥ നായകൻ ഒരു കൊച്ചു കുട്ടിയാണ്.. മുത്തച്ഛനും മുത്തശ്ശിയും അച്ഛനും അമ്മയും ഒരു അനിയത്തിയും അടങ്ങുന്ന ഒരു കൊച്ചു കുടുംബം... ഒരു ഉൾനാടൻ ഗ്രാമം ... ഒരു അവധി കാല വിശേഷങ്ങൾ ആണ് കഥയിൽ പറയുന്നത്. അവധി ആരംഭിക്കുന്ന ദിനത്തിലെ സുപ്രഭാദം.. രാവിലെ മുത്തശ്ശിയും അമ്മയും കുളി കഴിഞ്ഞു അടുക്കളയിൽ പോകാൻ ഒരുങ്ങുന്നതിനു മുൻപ് എല്ലാരേയും വിളിച്ചു ഉണർത്തുന്നു...

'അമ്മ : വേണ്ട ഉറങ്ങിയാൽ അതൊരു ശീലം ആകും.. അതുമല്ല ഇന്ന് നമ്മൾ ടൂർ പോകുകയല്ലേ എല്ലാരും പെട്ടന്ന് റെഡി ആക്‌..

അച്ഛനും പിള്ളാരും രാവിലത്തെ കർമങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യാൻ പോയി. മുത്തശ്ശിയും അമ്മയും അടുക്കളയിലേക്കു പോയി...

മുത്തച്ഛൻ കോലായിൽ പത്രം എടുത്തു വായന തുടങ്ങി, അപ്പോൾ 'അമ്മ ചായയും ആയി വന്നു മുത്തച്ഛന് കൊടുത്തു..അപ്പോൾ 

അച്ഛൻ : രശ്മി എനിക്ക് ചായ ഇല്ലേ .. 

'അമ്മ : സതീശേട്ടൻ ആദ്യം റെഡി ആകു അപ്പോഴേക്കും ചായ തരാം..

അച്ഛൻ മുത്തശ്ശി യോട് ചായ തരുന്നില്ല ഇവൾ എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു .. മുത്തശ്ശി ചിരിച്ചു തള്ളി...

ഈ സമയത്തു പുറത്തു ചെറിയ ഒരു ചാറ്റൽ മഴ പെയ്യുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു...

നല്ല പച്ചപ്പുള്ള പ്രകൃതി .. ചെറിയ മഞ്ഞുപോലെ എന്ത് നല്ല കാലാവസ്ഥ .. 

ഗ്രാമങ്ങളുടെ പ്രത്യോകതകളും അതുതന്നെ ആണല്ലോ ... പശുവും കിടാവും ചാറ്റൽ മഴ കൊള്ളുന്നു..ആട്ടിൻ കുട്ടികൾ നനയാതെ ഇരിക്കാൻ അപ്പുറത്തെ മാവിൻ ചുവട്ടിൽ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു .... പശുവിനെ മാറ്റിക്കെട്ടാൻ അയൽവാസി രാമേട്ടൻ വരുന്നത് കാണാം.. ഈസമയം അച്ഛനും മക്കളും കുളിച്ചു കുട്ടപ്പൻ മാരായി ബ്രേക്ക് ഫാസ്റ്റ് കഴിക്കാൻ ഡൈനിങ് ടേബിൾ ലേക്ക് വരുന്നു.. അവർ എല്ലാരും കൂടി കൊച്ചു വർത്തമാനങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞു ഇരിക്കുന്നു... ഇത് സിനിമ ആയിരുന്നെഗിൽ ഒരു പാട്ടു പാടാം..
